Business can be bloody and Harbour Theatre has the trail of evidence

Director Claudia Stewart and the ensemble from Harbour Theatre
bring Ian Weir's Bloody Business to the Tom Rooney Playhouse this weekend

"Shadowy dealings in a small town,  ... with a touch of the supernatural" .

Secret recordings of nefarious activities in Prince Rupert?

Well, sorry not this time around ...

Sightings of ghosts among the storefronts of Third Avenue? ...

Not quite, but it is the season ...

Actually, it's just the scene setter for the latest project from Harbour Theatre, as the ensemble of familiar names in the Prince Rupert theatre scene brings Ian Weir's Bloody Business to life on the stage of the Tom Rooney Theatre this weekend.

Weir, who was born in North Carolina but raised in Kamloops has created over a dozen plays since his arrival on the theatre scene in 1987,  and has become recognized for his work of film and television projects since then.

Bloody Business is among one of his most celebrated plays, first produced for the stage in 1990, set in the sleepy little town of Sunshine.

But there's a dark side to that positive sounding vibe, with the embodiment of the shift that of a mysterious newcomer, who has brought to Sunshine a mood of melancholy, seems to prefer the colour black and staring off in the distance over the lake.

More will be revealed this weekend, with three showings for theatre goers to choose from:

Friday October 26 -- 7:30 PM
Saturday, October 27 -- 7:30 PM
Sunday, October 28 -- 2 PM

Auditions for the project took place at Harbour Theatre in August, with the cast assembled and to their rehearsals through September and into the homestretch of October.

This weekend's presentation is Directed by Claudia Stewart

The comedy that travels the dark side showcases the work of Rich Jerstad, Rudy Kelly, Krista Ediger, Tristan Higgenson and  George Baker.

Tickets are fifteen dollars and are available at Homeworks and at the Door of the Tom Rooney Playhouse on Third Avenue West.

You can learn more about the weekend performances from the Harbour Theatre Facebook page and the event page that has been created for Bloody Business.
