Rampage look to keep on a roll in two weekend contests in the Northwest

The members of the Prince Rupert Rampage will board the bus later today looking to recapture their spot as the top team in the CIHL,  with the Rhinos hitting the road for a two game road trip, the first with the Terrace River Kings tonight at the Terrace Sportsplex Ice Arena.

Tomorrow night it's on to Kitimat and a Saturday night contest with the Ice Demons.

Boasting a 4-0 record so far in the still early part of the CIHL season, the Rampage have been marking wins with the Williams Lake Stampeders, the latter squad  holding down first based on having played five games so far this year, all of them wins.

The two teams combined account for 89 of the 147 goals scored so far in the 2018-19 season, while the Rampage defensive unit is far and away the top group in the league, having surrendered but thirteen goals on the year heading towards this weekend.

Three members of the Rampage find themselves among the CIHL leaders on the scoring list, with Jared Meers and Judd Repole tied for fifth overall heading into the weekend, while Cole Atchison is right behind them in eighth spot in a very congested top ten.

Last week the Rampage kept up with their torrid pace for the start of the season, with a convincing 9 to 2 victory over the visiting Quesnel Kangaroos, the Rampage offensive units finding their mark frequently during the game, while the Prince Rupert defence and goaltending continued to play some solid shut down hockey to ensure that the visitors entertained few thoughts of a comeback.

Those not making plans to take in the games in person this weekend in either Terrace or Kitimat, can follow the Rampage on the road, with CityWest Community Channel 10 and 310 hosting the two games as part of their CIHL coverage for this season.

Puck drop tonight is at 8:15 in Terrace; Saturday night's matchup in Kitimat starts at 7:30 PM.
