It's been over six weeks since Prince Rupert stories gained a significant share of the news gathering for TV7's nightly newscast, but an announcement from the Terrace based station from yesterday suggests that situation is about to change.

TV7 has introduced the latest reporter to be posted to the Cow Bay office for Bell Media in the Northwest, welcoming Brittany Webster to the TV 7 news team.

Hailing from Georgetown, Ontario she moves from the world of university radio in Windsor, Ontario to start her broadcast career on the North Coast.

She will be replacing, Helena Skrinjar who had a short stay with TV7, departing from Prince Rupert in early September, the position remained vacant through the last six weeks leaving a fairly large hole when it comes to access to news for residents of the North Coast.

Ms. Webster's arrival couldn't have come at a better time, and while she has yet to appear in the archive of stories from TV7, one of her first assignments no doubt will be to cover the final days and voting day for the 2018 City Council  and School District election.

Beyond civic politics, the wide range of community activities in the city will now once again have an opportunity for additional exposure as CFTK TV increases its coverage of the North Coast.
