Lax Kw'alaams gets powered back up after overnight outage

It was a chilly day for residents of Lax Kw'alaams as the community
north of Prince Rupert suffered an overnight power outage

A power outage that affected close to 325 customers in the community of Lax Kw'alaams has been resolved, as BC Hydro crews returned the power to the area by the noon hour.

The incident was caused by a tree falling down across the power lines and happened in the early hours of Monday morning, making for a chilly start of the day for residents of the community.\



As a result of the power outage, the Coast Tsimshian Academy cancelled its classes for the day, with students to return to the classroom on Tuesday morning.
