With the ranks somewhat thin among the officiating staff of Prince Rupert Minor Hockey, the local hockey organization is looking for some new recruits to don the striped uniform to keep proper order on the ice.
Towards building their staff, the PRMHA is hosting a Referees Clinic tomorrow starting at 8 AM at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre.
Once fully qualified the new recruits will become part of the paid staff that requires only a part time commitment.
Those that take to the ice can choose from a shift load that has as little as 1 and half hours at a time to longer time lines if desired.
To help with an incentive to attract new members, the PRMHA will reimburse your 2019 referee clinic fees once you have completed six games on the ice with the Association.
The referees make for one of the essential elements to keeping the kids on the ice with the PRMHA, so if you have some spare time and want to make some spare money, it could be a just right combination.
