Prince Rupert Fire Rescue tackles two fires in less than six hours

Prince Rupert's Firefighters were kept busy this morning with two calls for assistance before the noon hour arrived.

The first coming in the early morning hours, as a crew from the First Avenue West Station responded to a call of a suite on fire on the 700 block of Lotbineire Street just before six AM.

Firefighters knocked the fire down in quick order, with no injuries reported for those in the structure.

Less than six hours later Fire trucks were racing across town to the Drake Crescent area and a vehicle fire in a parking lot at one of the apartment complexes on the city's east side.

Much like the early morning fire, no injuries were reported from the second fire called in towards 11 AM, but there was however significant damage to the vehicle.
