Northern Expedition sailing delayed due to weather; revised schedule in place

Sailing Delays for the Northern Expedition. The BC Ferry vessel will
hold in Port in Skidegate until this evening owing to a
Storm Warning for Hecate Strait

Another round of stormy weather has knocked the Northern Expedition off of its regular schedule, with BC Ferries advising earlier this morning with a Service Notice that the vessel's planned 10AM departure has been delayed until 6PM tonight.

With that, a revised schedule is now in place for the next 48 hours.

That schedule revision is weather dependent and will impact operations at Skidegate, Prince Rupert, Bella Bella and Port Hardy.

A Storm Warning is now in effect for Hecate Strait, with winds of 50 knots this morning, diminishing through the afternoon and into tomorrow. Seas were at 4 metres this morning and will subside through the day into Tuesday.
