Avalanche Control work set for Highway 16 West of Terrace today; overnight vehicle incident in Prince Rupert

Travellers along Highway 16 can expect delays near
Exchamsiks as crews work on avalanche control until 1 PM


Some proactive avalanche work is set for Highway 16 today, with crews to work a location 50 kilometres west of Terrace through the morning until 1 PM.

The area to be addressed is just to the west of Exchamsiks River Provincial Park, motorists will be facing sporadic delays of up to 40 minutes during the course of today's work.



As for the conditions on the highway, A Snowfall Warning remains in place, Snow is expected to fall in the Terrace/Kitimat region through the day, changing to rain by this evening.





Late Monday evening, Emergency responders and Highways Crews responded to a vehicle incident on Highway 16 between Portage Road and Prince George Street.



According to the Drive BC information stream the issue was addressed within 25 minutes, with only a few delays for those travelling the road.
