Rainmakers keep the wins coming, with strong weekend effort against Prince George visitors

The Charles Hays Senior Boys Rainmakers continued to keep their game at an A level over the weekend, fresh from their success in Vancouver and a second place finish in the Emerald Tourney, the Makers turned their attention to a challenge from the east.

With The Senior Boys taking on the Prince George Secondary Polars in a pair of games at the CHSS gym on Friday and Saturday.

The ice breaker for the two games came with Friday evening's tip off with the Charles Hays squad Tyler Jones, Caden Pagens and Kai Leighton setting the pace early for the evening's work,  led by some strong offensive numbers by the Rainmakers built on their lead through the game towards a final of 79-53.

Saturday the two teams returned to the court for a mid-day matchup, the contest one which was dominated by the Charles Hays squad which had the team take charge early, never really allowing the Polars to claw their way back into the game.

Kai Leighton and Tyler Jones made the most of their scoring opportunities on the day, accounting for more than half of the Rainmakers 92 points, strong defensive play kept the Prince George team to 66 on the afternoon.

Up next for the Rainmakers is a visit from the Caledonia Kermodes, with the Terrace visitors in town for a 6PM start at the CHSS Gym.

The CHSS/Cal game making for the middle match break as part of the Junior Boys Zones championship taking place this weekend.

Next week the Makers take on the number 3 ranked DP Tod Trojans with a pair of games set for February 15 &16.
