As part of an ever evolving response to the COVID-19 heath situation, Port Edward Transit has announced a range of changes to their current schedule of service between Port Edward and Prince Rupert.
Starting today, the Transit service will no longer travel the extra distance to the North Pacific Cannery Historical Site.
That move not a surprise with the recent announcement that the Historical site will not open to tourism this season.
As for the other changes, Port Edward Transit has removed two evening trips on weekdays and Saturday, trips departing Prince Rupert at 9:20 PM and 10:10 PM.
Since the announcement of the changes, The District of Port Edward has fielded a number of questions related to the shift in service.
They provide for some background to the decisions related to scheduling and service levels, which you can review here.
The schedule in effect as of today is as follows:
Port Edward to Prince Rupert
Prince Rupert to Port Edward
More background on today's announcement can be reviewed here.
