City Council Preview: Monday, November 7, 2022

The first Council session for the elected members from the October 15th municipal election is set for tonight, the majority of the collective, five of six,  re-elected members from the last council term.

The newcomers to the City Hall chamber include a familiar face in former Mayor Herb Pond returned to his duties after over ten years out of municipal politics, along with a new face to the municipal scene in Terri Forster.

As Corporate Administrator Rosa Miller explains it the evening will move forward as follows:

Tonight's session will not feature any new business, the night one of ceremony and the inauguration of the new Mayor elect Herb Pond and his council.

The events will start at 7pm.

The new Mayor and Council will arrive to the Council Chamber, where there will be a traditional welcome and then the new Mayor and Council will be sworn in to office.

Mayor (elect) Pond will then call the meeting to order.

The only business for the evening will be any  opening remarks for the term from Mayor and Council and then the meeting will be adjourned.

Tonight's Council session starts at 7PM and can viewed by way of the Live Feed from the City Website, or on Cable Television from CityWest Cable Channel 10/310.

The session is normally posted to the City's YouTube archive within 24 hours of the session concluding.
