Further progress for Port Edward LNG project as BC Hydro applies for Right of Way

comment for those who may have something to note for the Government

Another step forward towards development of a small scale LNG terminal in Port Edward is in motion, with BC Hydro recently having applied with the British Columbia Government for a Statutory Right of Way to extend a utility line by 340 metres towards the proposed facility.

The comment period for those wishing to make submissions is December 14th, you can review the full documentation towards their application from the British Columbia Government  site here.  

The proposed site for Port Edward LNG is a 37 acre site adjacent to the BC Hydro operations, the LNG would be shipped through containers arriving and departing through the DP World container facility at the Port of Prince Rupert.

The original timeline for development of the site had hoped to see work underway in 2021, but delays pushed that schedule further into 2022.

The company was issued its facilities permit in September, so far however  Port Edward LNG hasn't provided for an update on their website and there has been no release of details as to when terminal construction will be underway and when the first shipment will take place.
