Off season plans for Tourism Prince Rupert include consultation with range of local partners and stakeholders

Prince Rupert area residents who enjoy recreation activities on the
water will want to check out a Tourism Prince Rupert event this week

While the visitors may be gone, the work for the 2023 tourism year is just getting underway and towards the year ahead, Tourism Prince Rupert is checking in with some local stakeholders with plans for some informal social gathering to exchange ideas over the next little while.

The first of what will be three areas of interest for this go round for Tourism Prince Rupert comes up this Wednesday, when they check in with those with a passion for the water and paddle boarding, canoeing, kayaking and such activities in local waters.

With Tourism Prince Rupert looking for feedback towards what infrastructure or services are needed in the region to help grow those activities.

To find out more about their focus for their consultation program ahead, we checked in with Ceilidh Marlow, Executive Director, Tourism Prince Rupert.

"Our plan is to host three sessions between now & May 2023, each centred around a different theme - Paddling, Fishing, and Arts & Culture.

The idea is to take advantage of the quieter fall/winter season to check in with all of our partners and local stakeholders.

As we plan for the 2023 season and especially after such a busy summer season in 2022, we have lots of ideas for projects and new tourism amenities, but we want to make sure we check in with everyone involved in and impacted by the tourism sector, to make sure we're not missing anything, and that everyone has a chance to provide feedback on our work."

The Wednesday session at the Wheelhouse Brewing Company takes place from 5 to 6:30 PM, follow the Tourism Prince Rupert social media stream for updates for the other areas of the consultation program,.
