Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue response to vacant McKay street row housing

PRFD vehicles along McKay on Tuesday AM

A strong response from the downtown fire hall to the McKay Street area this morning with two fire apparatus and a response vehicle in attendance to the row of vacant BC row housing in the west side neighbourhood arriving just before the noon hour.

The responding fire fighters had hoses deployed from their vehicles and leading into the area, though it's not clear if the incident was a fire call or some other activity.

The area of focus for PRFD was the Kootenay end of the
fenced off row homes

So far, there are no notes being shared through the PRFD Social media feed as to their work over the noon hour in the area.

The row houses have been vacant for months, the area destined for re-development by BC Housing, though to date there has been little activity seen in the area other than the erecting of the fencing back in the summer

The  area of note today for PRFD, was those units in lower half the block of row homes from Sloan to Kootenay.

More notes on the work of Emergency Responders across the Northwest can be explored here.
