Prince Rupert Lions have been busy helping out with some Christmas spirit in the community taking on a number of projects over the last few weeks to lend a hand.
In late November, the Lions Club partnered with the Prince Rupert Aboriginal Community Services to offer some help to the community's homeless population.
This week, the Lions have been helping out with a program for Seafarers that come to town on the various cargo ships that call on Prince Rupert Port Authority facilities, once again hosting their annual Toques for Seafarers program.
With the homestretch towards Christmas 2022 now underway, the Prince Rupert Lions will be turning their attention to one of their most popular events of the year, the Blue Knuckle Derby.
This year will mark the 30th edition for the Lions Memorial Blue Knuckle Derby which is dedicated to the memories of Marc Desautels and Jeff Carlson.
This years event takes to local waters from Daylight to Dark on December 27th.
Tickets to the Blue Knuckle Derby can be purchases at Pacific Net and Twine, Sea Sport, Northern View and Northwest Fuels.
The Lions will be sharing more notes on this years event in the weeks ahead, follow their Social Media feed for updates on the Derby and some of their other initiatives.
