Blog Watching: Week ending December 11, 2022

A range of civic themes dominated our list of the five most read items of the week.

By a significant margin, our look at an addition of a familiar name to the roster of Management for the City of Prince Rupert owned and operated CityWest generated the most interest.

That item was followed by a few notes from City Council, with a story on a request for an update at a future council session on the city's plans by Operations for the move to the former MacCarthy auto dealership lot.

Members of Prince Rupert City Council also received a Housing Needs Report this week from the Planning Department, a document which sparked a fair bit of discussion on Monday.

The Gitxaala First Nation has partnered with Seaspan for a new marine tug service and our story on an Open House this past week found a good audience.

From the water to the air, our notes on some themes on aviation from a recent Globe and Mail article also generated a strong readership.

From the weeks review however, the most read item of the week was that of some news from City owned CityWest.

Lee Brain's parachute comes in Blue and White, as former Mayor is tapped for Vice-President post at CityWest  --  Our notes on an addition to the CityWest management team attracted a fair bit of interest as the week came to an end.      (posted December 9 , 2022

High fees, Hidden fees keeping Canadians from enjoying competition in air services --  We explored a few of the themes from a wide ranging article in the national paper the Globe and Mail last week.  Some of their data made note of airport improvement fees in Prince Rupert, while other areas of interest included the areas of note from some of the nations air carriers when it comes to where they will provide service.
