Travel Advisory in place for Highway 16 between Terrace and Prince Rupert, Road Closure in effect from 9PM to 11PM for Avalanche control



Update 1 PM: See below for Freezing Rain warning added to the list

Drive BC has increased it's advisories for Highway 16 this Christmas Eve, advising that the recommendation to Not Travel will now be a ROAD CLOSURE, with the Highway between Terrace and Prince Rupert to Close at 9PM owing to Avalanche deposit concerns.

The two hour closure until 11PM will be re-evaluated at that time.

Blowing Snow and poor visibility has been reported for Highway 16 from Prince Rupert to Terrace, as well as for Highway 37 North and South into the Kitimat region.

Travel Advisories are also in place on Highway 113 in the Nass Valley


A Freezing Rain Warning was added to the Highway 16 list
