Rainmakers Lower Mainland trip to provide for some top tier competition at No Regrets tournament

It's been a short week between events for the Charles Hays Senior Boys Rainmakers Basketball Team, Saturday they were in Terrace for a pair of games with Caledonia and the Nass Valley and this afternoon they tip off in North Vancouver at the highly acclaimed No Regrets Tournament.

Last night's plans had included an exhibition game against Collingwood, a highly rated AA team, which was to serve as a tune up for the main event this weekend.

The opening match up for No Regrets finds the Rainmakers up against a major force in Lower Mainland as they open the tourney with a game against St Thomas Aquinas which had a number one pre season ranking prior to the start of High School basketball season.

As we outlined earlier this week, Coach Ryan Bishop is expecting the weekend road trip to be a significant test for his team, which will give he and assistant coach Ben Mark a good idea as to how their squad measures up against some of the top tier teams in BC high School Hoops.

Charles Hays and St. Thomas Aquinas tip off at 3:45 at Carson Graham Secondary, the result of the opener to determine if the rest of the tournament will be on the A, or B side of the three days of play.

The No Regret's event is one of the many high profile basketball events taking place this month around the Vancouver area. The Rainmakers have been a fixture on the schedule for much of the last decade, making for valuable view towards the big school competition from the south.

The teams that they may meet this weekend, perhaps competitors again in March when Provincials take place in Langley.
