Holiday Home Safety Guidance from Prince Rupert Fire Rescue

The Holiday season is one that at times can bring a fair bit of risk towards homes, from Christmas tree maintenance, to overloading electrical circuits to battle colder than usual temperatures.

And as we move into the Christmas Holiday weekend now and the week between Christmas and New Year's the Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue Department has put together some helpful hints for homeowners towards home safety.

For Tree Safety, the following notes are high on their list.

Included in the PRFD update, a video that highlights the dangers of note keeping watch on the forest in the living room.

With the Kitchen the centre of much activity in the lead up to Christmas, the Fire Department also offers up some guidelines towards the work taking place.

Other notes from the PRFD outlines precautions towards candle safety and Safety planning for the family over the holidays and any day really.
