The warm weather start for May has made for an interesting mixture of natural disaster preparation for the province with different areas on a Flood Alert or a Wildfire alert for the first week in.
The major flooding for the moment is of concern in the Caribbo and Thomson regions of the province, while Forest Fires have been of note in the Peace and along the Highway 16 corridor into Alberta.

You can bookmark our Northwest Wildfire Archive here for later use this summer perhaps, when the situation seems the most dangerous.
The more immediate risk for the Northwest is flooding as the snowpack begins to melt and swell the streams that feed the major rivers off the region.
And on that theme, the current situation is that of a High Stream Advisory for much of the Inland regions.
The forecast report as of May 5th providing details for the Skeena Region including the Bulkley River and tributaries around Telkwa, Smithers, Hazelton, Kispiox and Terrace itself can be reviewed here.
