Another Day, another hole to dig for City of Prince Rupert Work crews

The city's water infrastructure has once again made for some work for city works crews, this time on the city's main transportation corridor on Second Avenue West, with work crews taking to the 200 block today to address what had become a steady stream flowing to the east.

The water stream had first been noticed earlier this week the water trail one that stretched for two blocks towards the Court House and McBride.

Second Street and Second Avenue West is the latest trouble spot
for water related infrastructure in the city

As a result of that work, a huge hole has been excavated on Second West, with traffic reduced to just two lanes, one each way, traffic controllers are on the work site to ensure that traffic flows at reduced speeds, with members of the RCMP also on hand at times to ensure those speed restrictions are adhered to.

The City has not as of yet provided any background on the latest area of note for their water woes, so its unknown at the moment how long the repair work is to take place or what the nature of the repairs might be.

More notes on Civic Operations can be reviewed here.

  1. Push Bachrach to get the federal funding piece in place. The city has approved their borrowing piece.

Our MP is in Ottawa prepping for the new session of Parliament in September 18th. The Rupert water situation has to be his first comments in the new parliament, that is how bad it is.
