Construction plans for housing and education were among the areas of interest for readers this week that made for the five most read blog items of the week.
An update from the Lax Kw'alaams Band outlined the path forward for their planned apartment complex on 11th Avenue East in Prince Rupert, also taking place this week was an announcement from North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice, who relayed word from Victoria towards securing funding for the much discussed New Middle School.
With interest on the federal political scene and election planning for 2025 starting to build, a release from political observers 338 Canada indicated that if an election were held this week, Skeena-Bulkley Valley would see a change in representation.
Another in the long list of water infrastructure work made for some interest this week, as work crews took on some emergency water repairs on Second Avenue West.
And there was some news of note from the District of Port Edward, including the return to the search for the next Corporate Administrative Officer.
The top story of the week however, returns to the popular theme of housing in Prince Rupert and the plans for Lax Kw'alaams housing in the community.

Another Day, another hole to dig for City of Prince Rupert Work Crews -- Friday brought a bit of traffic congestion for one of the city's busiest streets, as Work crews attended to what appeared to be a water leak under the 200 Block of Second Avenue West (posted September 8 , 2023)
Port Edward salutes two new businesses for the District; launches search for new CAO -- The week brought some new from the District of Port Edward, with some job creation taking place on the waterfront and the quest once again for a Corporate Administrative Officer was launched. (posted September 6, 2023)
