Response to 75 incidents and community engagement marked month of August for Prince Rupert Fire Rescue



The work taken on by members of the First Avenue West Fire Hall will be part of a report for Council for tonight's Council session, with Fire Chief Jeff Beckwith providing a review of their response and community engagement through August.

From the update, the Fire Chief will relay the response to 75 incidents to August 31at including an east side fire on Crestview that saw property loss of 260,000 dollars.

The month also saw PRFD members respond to 4 Motor Vehicle Incidents and 5 nuisance/non structural fires.

The report also highlights some of the community engagement that the members took whether by way of helping out with the Friendship House Block Party on Fraser street or a visit to a local Daycare centre.

August also had some significant training take place, work that put the two newest members through their paces as part of the ongoing process of expanding os skills continues.

The full report for Council is part of the Consent Agenda for tonight's meeting at 5 PM, Council members can if they wish comment or ask questions related to the items, as can the public at the start of the session.
