They may have fried up their last batch of fish n chips for 2023 at Bob's on the Rocks, but they're already cooking up some big plans for when the seasonal food emporium resumes operations in the Spring of 2024.

The business enterprise that is part of the Group of companies owned by the Gitmaxmak'ay Group has announced a new investment for their popular eatery on the Prince Rupert waterfront, with a contract awarded for the creation of a covered eating space and renovation for the Kiosk.

The off season plans were relayed through the Bob's on the Rocks Social Media page, with Prince Rupert's Rupert Wood N Steel awarded the contract for the work ahead, which is funded through grant funding from the Province of British Columbia.

Their update also reviewed some of the previous investments into the popular spot on the city's east side since the Society purchased it in 2021.

A list that includes construction of the waterfront deck, rebranded logo, purchase of a food truck and upgrades for the out door seating along with a new logo.

All of that expansion came with the certainty that came out of a five year lease from 2021 with the City of Prince Rupert for the Rushbrook Site

The Gimaxmak'ay Group also hint that more news is yet to come,  you can get the heads up on that when it arrives through the Bob's on the Rocks social media stream.

More notes on the city's commercial sector can be reviewed from our archive page.
