This week makes for a busy one for local tire shops and garages, that as this with plans to travel beyond the Port Edward Turn off this fall and winter have just days left to changeover from summer to winter tires.
That makes for the rush for this week that may locations are finding for those who have left their tire changeover plans to the last minute.

The provincial government has set the dates of October 1st to April 30th for proper winter tires for the Northern Region, though if you're travels take you no further than Terrace you can make your spring change on March 31st.
As part of their information campaign heading into the winter driving season, the Province hosts a Shift to Winer program which offers up guidance for professional drivers and those of us just making a run down the highway in the winter time.

While we're still likely a few weeks away from any snow or freezing rain concerns along the Highway 16 corridor, when those conditions hit, you can access the latest road conditions through Drive BC which offers up route conditions and advisories through their website and social media streams.
