Engines set to roar Saturday as Prince Rupert's Harley Riders take to streets in 2023 Toy Run

The Salvation Army on Grenville Court is the starting point for
tomorrow's Harley Riders Toy Run in Prince Rupert and Port Edward

The streets of Prince Rupert and Port Edward may be a little more congested and just a tad louder through much of tomorrow afternoon, that as members of the city's motorcycle community take to the streets in aid of the Prince Rupert Salvation Army.

Those in the area could see up to 120 bikes on the road and considering the volume of road construction, they may be travelling down a few roads in the city that aren't normally part of the Harley Riders Toy Run travel agenda.

The event which is organized by the City's Harley Riders group and celebrates its 42nd anniversary tomorrow, will see the riders head off from the Salvation Army on Grenville Court at 1PM

The tour offers up a trip out to Port Edward for Lunch at the Port Edward Fire Hall,  as well as a Poker Run with four stops around Prince Rupert, included in the afternoon event is a 50/50 draw.

The evening wraps up with the Dance at the Prince Rupert Curling Club at Seal Cove, with Prince Rupert's popular group Triple Bypass among those to take to the stage for the evening  to help  put the wrap on things for this year.

The Dance is making a much anticipated return since it's suspension during the period COVID from the last few years.

Organizers, no doubt are keeping an eye on the Weather office forecast of a few showers, with those participating likely hoping for just a few a light showers, if any must come at all.

As we noted last month, the donations of toys and cash go towards the Salvation Army Christmas programs in the Prince Rupert area. The recent years for the event have delivered some remarkable contributions from the popular annual run, with Riders reaching some strong community support.

Recent rides have seen the Participants raise in the area of 10,000 dollars annually towards the Christmas programs  for the community. That a combination of the Riders work, the sponsors that support the annual event and those in the Prince Rupert area who lend their financial support as well.

You can follow the Prince Rupert Harley Riders social media stream for updates on the Toy Run as well as how you can purchase some of their Toy Run items to help out with their efforts this year.
