Tour de North launches its journey to Prince Rupert tomorrow

Seven days on the Road to Rupert start Friday
for thirteen riders in the 2023 Tour de North

The rubber meets the pavement tomorrow morning as the 2023 Riders in the Tour de North begin their journey westbound from Prince George.

The travels making for seven days on the road to Prince Rupert with arrival at the Crest Hotel set for Thursday afternoon/evening.

The schedule for the thirteen riders and their support team in the 2023 Tour de North takes them through all of the communities on the Highway 16 corridor with stops planned as is indicated below:


Those on the ride and travelling in support are likely to see a range of weather conditions along the way over the next six days, with some significant rain in the forecast from the weekend on into next week.

The composition of the riders ranges from RCMP members, Firefighters, BCEHS and Correctional Service of Canada. 

The riders come from all corners of the North and Central Interior, with three in this years tour from Prince Rupert, all have been training and fundraising through the summer with an eye on the September 15th launch.

The money raised from the 2023 Tour de North goes towards support of the Canadian Cancer Society and their research into pediatric cancer as well as to help send children and teens with Cancer to Camp Goodtimes.

As they get closer to Prince Rupert, we may see some updates from the local RCMP social media stream  and that of the PRFD, all in preparation for Thursday's arrival in the city.
