The start of November has once again set the stage for the annual tradition of the Prince Rupert Rotary Auction, this year celebrating its 59th year of providing funding for a range of local programs as well as assistance for organizations and groups.

The Bidding period got underway on Thursday and will continue through to 3 PM on November 14th.

This years auction features the annual sale of 750 tickets with a first prize of 1500 dollars, with  second prize of $750 and Third Prize of $250.

As well, every successful bidder will be entered in a draw to win a Grizzly Bear Tour for 2 that has been donated by Adventure Tours.

Just a few days into their 2023 Auction they are nearing the 25% mark of their  $40,000 fundraising target for this year.

Some of the activities that your financial support is directed towards include the Annual Polar Bear Swim on New Years Day, the Mariner's Memorial Park Easter Egg Hunt and the SD52 Apple program to name a  few of the more prominent ones.

They have also been involved in trail building and other community ventures through the years.

Rotarians are always looking to hear from Community Groups towards other programs that they can take on.

The launch of the Auction this week came with some introductory videos to showcase some of their largest supporters as well as to highlight the importance that the annual fundraiser brings towards Rotary projects.

One video presentation, created by Lonnie Wishart tells the historical story of Rotary to the Auction.

As they get closer to the wrap for two weeks of auction on November 14th follow the Prince Rupert Rotary Club through their social media stream here.
