City of Prince Rupert Boil Water Notice, downgraded to Water Quality Advisory

After 22 days of Boiling water after the Crestview Reservoir incident, residents of Prince Rupert have seen the Boil Water Notice downgraded to a Water Quality advisory, the revision to the water situation coming shortly after 5 PM on Wednesday evening.

The City outlined some background to what is called a "Low level Advisory" as part of their information campaign this evening.

Noting that it remains in place due to contraction impacts.

The advisory was also shared by the City's Social Media stream as well as through  their app program.

The original BOIL WATER NOTICE was put in place on October 18th, one day after a serious incident at the city's reservoir on Montreal Circle. City Council or its Operations department has yet to outline the full scope of that incident and what caused the valving situation that evolved from it.

The Boil Water Notice was one of a number that have been put in place over the last few years related to the current state of the city's water infrastructure.

Notes from Civic Operations can be reviewed here.
