Curlers sliding rocks towards twin events at months end

Update: With the start of the curling season delayed at the Curling Club, these two events will be rescheduled to a later date.

The launch of the 2018-19 Curling season is not too far off in the distance, with Club at Seal Cove having hosted its Semi-Annual meeting in September to set the course for the year ahead.

As Prince Rupert's curling community begin to put their rinks together for the pebble ice battles of the fall, winter and spring, two of the first events on the Curling calendar are approaching for the end of the month.

The Second Annual Corporate Curling Challenge is set for Saturday October 27th from Noon until 7PM, with those rinks that sign up looking to take down the inaugural champion rink of REMAX Coast Mountains Realty.

This years competition features a top prize of a flight seeing tour courtesy of Ocean Pacific Air.

In addition to the fun on the ice, Mucho Gusto will be on site, with the local tastes of the Wheelhouse Brewing Company also available for those moments away from the frantic sweeping.

You can get more information on the Corporate challenge or submit your team for the October 27th event by contact the curling club at princerupertcurling@gmail.com

Later in the evening the Fifth Annual Octobeerfest will take place, an opportunity for those new to the sport to come check out the club and take advantage of the trainer on site and equipment available to see if Curling could become your next sporting and social obsession.

That event starts at 7:30 and continues on late into the night.

Contact the curling club at princerupertcurling@gmail.com for more information on that event.
