Highway 16 returns to two lane traffic east of Prince Rupert after rock slide

Travellers on Highway 16 had to add a bit of extra travel time to their plans on Saturday as Highways Crews worked to take care of a rock slide on the highway.

The Saturday afternoon rock slide on Highway 16 was reported just before 1 PM and resulted in reducing traffic to one lane for a portion of Saturday, leaving motorists to travel east and west on an alternating schedule while crews worked to clear the slide.

The event took place at Rainbow Pass just before the portion of Highway that leads to the road running parallel to the Skeena River.
