5.2 magnitude earthquake recorded West of Vancouver Island

The Pacific fault line at the north end of Vancouver island stirred to life again on Friday afternoon with a 5.2 magnitude quake recorded 205 kilometres West of Port Hardy at 3:46 PM today.

The temblor had a depth of 10 kilometres,  and fell in the middle of two fault lines that travel along the Pacific Coast off of Vancouver Island.

No Tsunami warning was generated from the late afternoon seismic event.

Today's earthquake follows two seismic events which were recorded on March 5th.
