Open House on Syrian Refugee support takes place tonight at NWCC

The local group that is looking to bring up to three Syrian families to the North Coast will share some of their work with the public tonight, as they host an Open House at Northwest Community College.

The organization which is working under the name of Rupert Syrian Refugee Support is hosting the information session to outline the progress of their work so far and provide more information on how local residents can become involved in their efforts.

The session is set to take place from 5 until 7 PM tonight, with a brief presentation to be delivered at 6 PM.

In addition to continuing to work on their plans to bring families to the region, the group is currently in the midst of a fundraising campaign, with 10,000 dollars towards their goal collected as of March 8th.

As well the group have been busy collecting the wide range of items that are required to settle a family in the community, if you have items to donate or want more information you can contact that segment of the group at rsrsFurniture@gmail.com

You can learn more about their initiative from the Facebook page that has been created to provide more background on the issue.
