in Prince Rupert at the Legislature
Members of the British Columbia Legislature now know where to drop in for a beer, or who to call should they need a tree cut down on the North Coast, as well as a list of other notable Prince Rupert and area businesses after MLA Rice celebrated the recent Chamber of Commerce awards in the Chamber on Thursday.

And while the MLA managed to squeeze in each and every category winner in the course of her short presentation, she offered up a longer shout out to one particular local establishment.

"The big winner of the evening was the Wheelhouse Brewing Company, who won Business of the Year award. The three men who started the Wheelhouse Brewery have seen immense amounts of success since they first opened their doors in 2013.

Their hard work has paid off, because the Wheelhouse Brewery is the place to be after work on Fridays. Congratulations to the Wheelhouse Brewery on receiving the Business of the Year award." -- part of the celebration of the Chamber of Commerce Awards by North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice at the Legislature

Ms. Rice also offered up a salute to the determination of the entrepreneur behind Empire Tree Services, noting that Vern Baker launched his business enterprise with but one hundred dollars in his pocket.

You can review the MLA's full presentation to the Legislature from the Minutes of the Thursday Morning House Session, her participation starts at the 10:22 mark.
