Seafest 2016 Schedule released with summer festival launch one week away

Update: Prince Rupert Special Events is still in need of some volunteers for the Saturday and Sunday events. Should you have some time to spare and are able to help out contact Special Events at 250-624-9118 or by email at prspecialevents@citywest.ca.

Residents and visitors to the North Coast can now start to map out their 2016 Seafest plans with the release of the Schedule of Events for the three day festival that starts next Friday in Prince Rupert.

The Prince Rupert Special Events Society which watches over the delivery of the Seafest celebrations has posted this years schedule to their website and Facebook page, providing the comprehensive guide to events and where to find them.

Music, Sports events, skills competition, the Parade, Sailpast and Fireworks make up just a few of the things that those taking in the 2016 Seafest Celebrations will find in Prince Rupert from June 10-12.

With a theme of Gumboots and Raindrops the annual event seems destined to provide another three days with lots to do and perhaps not enough time to do it all.

As we noted on the blog last month, some of the key events for Seafest have already been accepting registrations, something that provides a bit of a testimony to the popularity of many of the weekend's options.

More events have been added in the lead up to next weekend and you can review some of the ones that you may wish to register for here.

You can look over the schedule by clicking on the images below, or you can review the weekend plans that start up next Friday from the Prince Rupert Special Events website here.

We'll feature more items related to Seafest next week part of our Seafest Spotlight feature, all part of the run up to Friday's launch of the North Coast's salute to the summer months.

The weekend will get off to lively start with the Music at Mariner's Outdoor concert at the City's Mariner's Park, the Friday evening show which starts at 7PM will feature Juno Award Winning artist Alex Cuba

Updated information through the week can also be found on the Special Events Facebook page.

You can also track many of the events that take place on the North Coast from our North Coast Events archive page found here.
