Port of Prince Rupert's Ken Veldman joins BC Chamber Board of Directors

The views from Prince Rupert should get a significant boost at the British Columbia Chamber of Commerce for the year to come, with the Port of Prince Rupert's Ken Veldman recently claiming a spot on the Provincial Board of Directors for the organization.

The announcement of the new members to the Board was shared on June 9th, the appointments made after the recent BC Chamber of Commerce Annual General meeting in May.

The fifteen members and President Patrick Geisbrecht provide guidance to the provincial body as it seeks to deliver the message of business both large and small to all levels of government.

Mr. Veldman who is the Director of Public Affairs at the Prince Rupert Port Authority takes the port's message far and wide, highlight how the transportation options offered through the North Coast are increasing the image of Prince Rupert and the province on the world shipping map. On the local scene he has also played a large role with the local Prince Rupert Chamber of Commerce over the years as well, frequently as a guest speaker providing the latest updates on developments with the Port for Chamber functions.

From his Chamber experience and through his work with the Port, the new provincial board member will be able to bring some of the key issues and concerns of the North Coast to the provincial body through his appointment.
