City seeks technician for Geographic Info system

July is shaping up to be a busy month for human resources at City Hall, with two employment opportunities currently listed on the City of Prince Rupert Jobs website.

As we outlined last week, the City is currently seeking the services of a City Planner 1 with a closing date of July 18th for applicants who may wish to join the city and its ambitions for major growth to come.

Late last week also saw the posting of a second position on the month with the city now on the hunt for a GIS Technician. The position which reports to the Director of Operations provides support work for many of the city's ongoing projects and initiatives.

The successful candidate for the position will provide technical and analytical support related to the use of the City's Geographic Information System, producing maps and related reports.

The range of qualifications, expectations and background on  how to apply for the position can be found from the Job Opportunity listing from the City's website.

The deadline for applicants is July 18th.
