Cow Bay Days set for Saturday celebration

The Cows are getting ready for
Cow Bay Days 2016

The city's Cow Bay District will be the centre of attractions for this Saturday with five hours of fun, food and adventure ahead for residents and visitors alike.

The popular event provides an opportunity for those businesses and services that are located in the region to show off some of the new options available or to introduce the area to those that may not have had an opportunity to visit in recent months.

Cow Bay Days Events kick off at 11 AM and run through until 4, with the merchants and services of the area providing for a number of activities to take part in.

Among some of the fun to be had:

The Scavenger Hunt
Kayaking Rides
Bouncy Castle
Chalk Art
Spaghetti Eating Contest
Egg Race
Facepainting
Fishing Games

Some of the city's  growing options in food carts are making plans to be hand for the events as well, with the Newfoundland temptations provided by Yes By and the Mucho Gusto Catering crew both indicating that they will be set up in the Cow Bay area Saturday.

Those dropping by the area on Saturday can also get a glimpse of the city's new Rainbow Pathway which is located adjacent to Cowpuccino's. The highly anticipated project was completed in June and links the Cow Bay area to the city's walking and cycling path to the east side.

EZ Rock, which has studios in the Atlin Terminal  will be on location through Cow Bay Days to keep residents up to date on what's coming up as the activities move along.

In addition to the local events that are in the works, the Cow Bay Marina will also be a destination to check out while in the area, the Royal Canadian Navy vessel HMCS Whitehorse makes a return visit to the city, with Tours for the public offered between 1 and 4 PM.

HMCS Whitehorse returns to the city this Saturday, with tours of the ship
