The North Coast is back on the news radar with the region's television station as a new reporter takes up her post as the Prince Rupert based reporter for Bell Television's TV 7.
Over the last week Cierra Wilson has been providing the background to some of the stories of interest that come out of this end of highway 16, with Prince Rupert once again finding its way into the news flow of the evening news broadcast.
Among some of the stories she has covered in her first week or so on the job, Port Edwards's 50th Birthday celebrations, plans to rename the parkland at Westview school after Odd Eidsvik, as well as a report on some traffic concerns found in Prince Rupert and the opening of new recreation facilities in Metlakatla.
Her arrival at the Atlin Terminal studios for the Prince Rupert operations of CFTK fills the void in news gathering on the North Coast after the departure of Emad Agahi in May.
Ms. Wilson arrives on the North Coast by way of Windsor, Ontario, having attended the University of Windsor and then Fanshawe College in London, Ontario.
A look at some of the stories she has filed to this point can be found at the CFTK TV website.
