Blog Watching: Week ending October 9, 2016

Provincial politics provided for the main theme of the week when it came to items of interest on the blog.

The arrival of the BC Legislature's Standing Committee on Finance for budget consultations in the city last Monday generated a few stories through the week, and as our blog counter indicates a number of them resonated with readers over the last seven days.

Three of our items related to that committee session cracked into our review of the Top Five items of the week, with the overview of Monday's presentations, as well as looks at the talking points from the Prince Rupert Port Authority and local UFAWU representatives grabbing a fair bit of attention.

A look at a new feature from the local newspaper the Northern View, which debuted a weekly Podcast on Wednesday also found some interested readers.

Also of note as the week moved forward were some high profile files from Northwest RCMP detachments, items which delivered a high level of  readership on the week.

The top story of the week however focused on the Budget Consultation session held Monday at the North Coast Convention centre and the number of local presentations that were made through the afternoon.

Fourteen delegations make presentations to Provincial Finance Committee in Prince Rupert -- The BC Legislature's Standing Committee on Finance made stop in Prince Rupert on their provincial Budget consultation tour and a number of local groups had presentations for them on Monday. There also proved to be a fair bit of interest in many of our items about the session through the week, you can review the full archive here. (posted October 4, 2016)
