City Council Preview: Monday, December 11, 2017

Regular Council session for 2017 at City Hall

Prince Rupert City Council members will bring their schedule of Regular council Sessions to a close for 2017 tonight, with the last regularly scheduled public session set for 7 PM at City Hall.

For the most part it's a fairly light agenda for the Regular Session, to go along with a Public Hearing to hear any public concerns related to the City's Interim zoning prohibitions related to marijuana sales, which could see the city extend their prohibition until at least the summer.

Tonight is also a Committee of the Whole Session night, with two groups on hand to make presentations, with Council also to Open the floor to questions later for anyone from the public with concerns or questions for council  members.

The only two items of work listed on the Agenda for the Regular session will be to decide on the fate of the Marijuana Prohibition zoning issue and to receive a report from the City's Finance Officer on the City's 2017 Financial Plan Bylaw Amendment.

Council members will also have opportunity raise any items of note or concerns at the end of the Council session.

The Regular Council session, which is open to the public, gets underway at 7PM.
