Council to hear update from local CBC advocates at meeting tonight

The radio service provided by the CBC to the North Coast will be the topic of a presentation tonight at Prince Rupert City Council, as Kathleen Palm and Evelyn Basso, provide a report they had previously prepared for Council to be delivered in October.

A mis-communication seems to be the explanation for their non-appearance at the time, but with a second invite from Councillor Thorkelson issued to the group which tracks the level of North Coast related stories will share their findings tonight.

The group of local advocates for public broadcasting which has been keeping a watchful eye on the public broadcaster since 2014, compiled a written report for Council in August of this year.  Their document including some recommendations for the CBC to follow up on when it comes to broadcast delivery and staffing positions at the Prince Rupert studios.

The full package of items for Council to read over related to Public Broadcasting on the North Coast  can be found from Committee of the Whole Agenda for tonight on page two.
