Prince Rupert's two Post Office locations will be busy spots for the next ten days or so as North Coast residents drop off or pick up their holiday parcels |
Today's the last day to get your letter to Santa into the mail or to send your Christmas parcels out by regular mail, with Canada Post about to head into the busiest two weeks of its year as the flood of Christmas mail makes its way across the country.
The Santa Letter program is a popular feature for the Post Office and relies on the work of volunteer elves each year to answer the volume of letters that Santa receives each year. Since the program started in 1981 the Post Office has answered over 27.8 million letters in 39 different languages.
With an increasing number of Canadians making use of on line Shopping, the Post Office has put together it's own list of tips to assist Canadians making their Christmas purchases and to help to meet their own holiday deadlines.
As for those Mailing deadlines, today is the last day to send parcel to family or friends in Canada by regular surface mail, though if you wish to spend a little bit extra for delivery Canada Post has other options that allow for a bit more time for you to wrap up you Christmas Mailing.
The full list of services and deadlines for shipment can be found here.
