Time marches on tonight, and as it does ... move your clocks!

The time tested twice a year ritual of moving our clocks back and forth comes our way tonight, with the need to "Spring Forward" our task ahead, as we take to moving our still fast moving timepieces (as Prince Rupert remains on a gas fired generator for now) ahead one hour.

The after affects of the time change linger a little longer as we move time ahead, beyond the obvious loss of sleep of an hour for Sunday, it takes a few days for the body's internal clock to adjust to the shift for a few days of the next week.

Hopes for the end of the need for Daylight Savings time will remain just that for the moment, during the course of this past week Premier John Horgan observed that while the NDP government has heard from many people on the issue of a potential abolition, that at this time it's not an issue the government has any plans to follow up on.

The official time to change your clocks is between the 2 and 3 AM hour, however if you get ahead of the curve and change them overnight, that's between you and your clocks ...

While you're busy adjusting the clocks, spare a second for a quick test of your smoke and carbon monoxide monitors around your house, though, for the benefit of those who may have retired early in your home ... perhaps that test could best be done in the daylight hours of Sunday.

As the tradition is, some thoughts on time changes to review as you prepare to lose your hour of sleep on Sunday.
