MLA's Week: March 12-15, 2018

Both MLA's Rice and Ross may have exhausted their commentary last week in what was a busy period of Legislature debate and statements, with the two MLA"s appearing with less frequency in this week's review of Legislature work.

For Ms. Rice, the week provided a chance to offer up some notes on the province's preparations for flood mitigation this year, while MLA Ross was a participant in a thirty minute discussion with Minister Doug Donaldson on issues related to farm fishing in the province.

Our look at the work week that just concluded, can be found below:

On the week, Ms Rice was listed once in the accounts of the sessions of the Legislature from March 12 to March 15 .

Ms. Rice's contribution to the Legislature discussion list came Tuesday morning, with her statement to the House about the province's work in the area of Flood preparations.

A familiar face for the North Coast was also in the Legislature on Monday, with former MLA Gary Coons in attendance in the Gallery, his presence noted by fellow New Democrat Nicholas Simons the member for Powell River-Sunshine Coast, who welcomed him back to the House. (see transcript here, starting at the very beginning of the morning session)

For our readers from the Terrace-Kitimat region, this week found Skeena MLA Ellis Ross mentioned twice in the work of the Legislature from March 12 to March 15.

His first comment to the Legislature came on Monday morning when he provided a tribute to the late  Joe Ianarelli one of the founders of the Kitamaat Basketball Tournament  (read the transcript here at the 13:50 PM mark)

Wednesday, Mr. Ross engaged in a lengthy back and forth discussion with Minister Doug Donaldson speaking to issues related to the Fish Fram industry in British Columbia.
