Port Edward Fire Department launches recruitment drive for volunteers

The Port Edward Volunteer Fire
Department is on the search to add
to their roster of volunteers
The District of Port Edward continues to issue the call for those who may be interested in serving on the District's Volunteer Fire Department to come forward, with the PEVFD currently looking for new members.

The Department offers training and equipment for those who can offer their time in service of the community, applicants must be 19 years of age or older and hold a clean drivers abstract, applicants will also have to be willing to have a criminal record check conducted.

The Port Edward department trains Monday's from 6:30 to 9 PM at the Port Edward Fire Hall, would be volunteers are encouraged to drop by one of the sessions to see what's involved and to participate to get an understanding of the tasks involved.

The District also is advising its residents that the community will conducting a test of the emergency evacuation system.  The tests are to be short and scheduled for the first Monday each Month starting with June 3rd test.
