Bike to Work and School week underway in Prince Rupert

Prince Rupert's streets may see a little more bike traffic through this week as the annual Bike to Work or School Week gets underway with this mornings run the first of the seven days of celebration of the two wheeled mode of transportation.

The Annual event provides opportunity for those Rupertites who aren't often found on a bike to bring out their trusty

Registration is easy and available through the official Prince Rupert Bike to Work/School website here.

Once registered, or if you are a returning participant a log in will keep you on the list for this year, you then will be ready to log your kilometres to qualify for the Grand Prize and other provincial prizes.



Learn more about the prizes and the program here. As you pedal your way to work or school this week, the prospect of gliding through Italy could be your reward this fall. With a trip to the Mediterranean country as the National Grand Prize set to send the winner to Sicily, cycling through villages, steep canyons and UNESCO sites.

All roads led to Javadot.cup on Third Avenue West today, as the downtown coffee spot once again serves as Bike to Work/School Week Headquarters, with cyclists dropping in this morning as part of their travels.

With sunny skies leading us through much of the week, the numbers of participants should grow as the Grande Finale to the week arrives on Sunday.
