The Coast Mountain School District issued an advisory for students, staff and parents on Sunday related to a pair of threats relayed through through the Facebook Terrace Buy and Sell page, that indicated a threat to both the Skeena Middle School and to Mount Elizabeth Middle/Secondary in Kitimat.
The on line threats appear now to have been removed from the Social Media site. Officials advised in their statement that the issue had been brought to their attention in the late afternoon period of Sunday afternoon
While the RCMP in both communities believe that the threats are of a low level risk element, precautions have been taken by the Coast Mountain District, which include an RCMP presence to be in place at both schools as the school week gets underway.
Kitimat and Terrace RCMP, Safer Schools Together (the school district’s provincial student safety experts), school district personnel and school administration are continuing their investigation.
Coast Mountains School District in conjunction with Safer Schools Together have requested that the RCMP pursue prosecution to the fullest extent of the law regarding this event.

Sunday's threats, follows two related incidents of last week at Skeena Middle School, both of which were also considered to be low-level risk by Terrace RCMP.
Parents or guardians of students at both schools have been invited to contact the school administration in both communities if they require further questions or concerns.
