Council appoints members to Community Society Boards

Prince Rupert Council relayed some news from one of their many closed session on Monday night, with the Deputy Corporate Administrator, Antonio Vera providing the names for two civic appointments to local Board Societies.

For the Prince Rupert Library Board, the city has appointed Carolina de Ryk to serve for a two year term to help guide the future plans for the Sixth Avenue East public library. Notes on the Library Board can be reviewed here.

The Performing Arts Centre Society will also have a new face around the board room table, with the City appointing Margaret Cavin to a two year position for that local organization

The City makes a number of Board appointments each year usually, though not exclusively in the early months of the calendar

The current call for volunteer members is for positions on  the Airport Authority Board, which we made note of earlier this month.  The city is accepting applications for three positions for that Board opportunity until this Friday at 4:30PM
