Called Five Weeks of Fun @ Port Ed,, the Bilingual day camp is designed for youth from ages five to twelve and will run for 24 days from July 2 to August 2.
The program will feature place based learning through morning crafts and science activities, afternoon field trips outdoor sports and play time.
The Port Edward initiative takes place from 9 AM to 4:30PM and includes breakfast, snacks and lunch. Registration is limited to a maximum of 25 children per week.
Parents can choose from 1 to 5 weeks at a cost of 40 dollars per day per child.

The move to host a summer camp in the District comes amid ongoing differences with the City of Prince Rupert over the Ridley Island Tax Sharing agreement, and in a way could be the District's answer to the comments of last fall by city officials over use by District residents of City of Prince Rupert recreation facilities.
The current status of the dispute still seems to be one of stalemate, as we noted on the blog on Friday, last week in a media interview, North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice made one of her first comments on the situation.
With the North Coast MLA noting that it was somewhat unlikely that the Province would be acting on a call from the City Council of Prince Rupert for the de-incorporation of the District of Port Edward.
